From the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Josef Egerson, aka Audio Joe, emerged as a poignant music figure. Throughout grade school, Joe maintain his head in his books while staying committed to the world of music. His musical career began when he received an electronic engineering set for Christmas one year. With the engineering set, Joe was able to hook up a makeshift radio, microphone included, and play around with sounds and music in his own room. From there, Joe would make dubbed tapes from the radio for his family and even attempt a blend of music (something very hard because he didn't possess a mixer.) It wasn't until the fifth grade that this struggling music career took full speed: Joe joined the school band. His initial instrument was the trumpet, an instrument that Joe feels touches his heart emotionally. "I don't know," Joe giggles, "it's just something about that trumpet. Like when I hear it now in a song, electronic to hip-hop, the sound of a sharp trumpet will bring emotion to my face."

Day in and day out, Joe would practice his trumpet. Trying despartely to hone in on the ideal placement of notes to produce a beautiful song. The trumpet also opened Joe's eyes to other forms of brass instruments. He became an expert at the mellophone and the french horn, and he even has tinkered with the tuba. "Not really a bass clef person myself," he chuckles, "but I did attempt the tuba for one graduation. It worked out well, but was too heavy for me."

Heavy? If the tuba is Heavy then what is with the carrying of multiple crates of records? An act that Joe enjoyed for over two years of his life; for in that two years, Joe was a part of the hit late night radio show The Audio-in-Fusion. During his two years at the show, Joe's skills as a deejay and radio personality floursihed. He was able to realize something in his life that he enjoyed. "I could just feel the people smiling as I would play a record," he says. Those who know Audio Joe know that his original name was Joedaintern: a legendary name that will forever grace the history books of WEAA 88.9. Joe was a very dedicated member of The Audio Infusion.

Currently Joe is living in Columbus, Ohio on a break from law school. When he returns to law school, he dreams of becoming an agent, preferably in music, but maybe in sports as well. "At this point in time, music has become my everything. I feel that I must work with the musical field as it is my calling." His experience as a DJ and a radio host will probably help him as he ventures off in his career. Every once in a while Joe pops back up to the station and joins the regular staff.
